As a member of the union you have access to the following benefits:
The union operates a Welfare Fund to provide assistance to a member and their family in cases of genuine hardship or on the bereavement of the member, the member's spouse, infant or school age child.
On the death of a contributing member, a death grant of $4000.00 may be issued to the member's next of kin on application and proof of death.
A death grant of $500.00 may be issued to a contributing member in the case of the death of the member's spouse, infant or school age child.
In cases of genuine hardship the trustees of the fund may issue a hardship grant up to the value of $400.00.
Our union has negotiated full medical cover which includes all existing illnesses, immediate policy cover plus various plans at affordable prices.
This cover provides for up to 40 of some of the most common traumas and pays to the member up to $15,000 (net). Traumas included are heart attacks, strokes, kidney problems etc. The payout is to help you pay the bills while you recover and to return to work when you are fit to do so.
